				The patient was a 68-year-old male referred to our office for a consultation for an overdenture. The patient presented with severe bruxism on the upper arch and semi-terminal dentition due to decay and fractured teeth.
Due to the anatomy of the upper jaw with multiple bony growths and tori in the palatal area, a traditional denture would not be possible due to the lack of retention and instability of the denture in the upper jaw.
Dr. Khansari recommended the extraction of all the upper teeth and placement of 4 implants for an overdenture. Dr. Khansari performed the extractions and implant placements under General Anesthesia with an alveoloplasty to remove the excess bony growths from the palate and the arch ridge.
The patient returned to his general dentist for the placement of the bar attachment for retention of the overdenture.
